Description

The WriteGirl In-Schools/ Bold Ink Writers program is seeking men and women with creative writing skills to lead writing workshops for teen boys and co-ed groups during the school day. The workshops help critically underserved teens develop creativity and other tools they need for academic and professional success. Workshops will take place throughout Los Angeles, from alternative schools to detention camps, for teens of diverse backgrounds. Mentors provide these teens with the positive transformative experience of learning the craft of writing poetry, prose, songs, blog entries and personal essays. Program begins in late July, 2018. Must have daytime/ weekday availability and attend a mandatory one-day training. Travel stipend may be available. (Bold Ink Writers is a project of WriteGirl, helping girls through creative writing and mentoring since 2001.)
