This will be the second session of a multi-level English as a Second Language class for women, predominantly refugee women from Syria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Burundi. Most if not all of the students are mothers, from mothers of infants to mothers of adult children. Other women for whom the class is suitable are welcome.
Care/programming will be provided for children who do not yet attend school. On Tuesdays, both adults and children will have “library time” from 11:30 – 12:00, led by the Providence Community librarians. For the rest of class time, care and programming will be led by volunteers.
The program will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. from April 3 – May 22, 2018. Volunteers are asked to commit to one or both days and arrive at least ten minutes before the start of class. Please inform Sharon as soon as possible (preferably 24 hours in advance) if you cannot attend a class meeting, and NOW of any schedule conflicts (such as exams, leaving for summer break, etc.).
