Description

Teaching in low-income communities can increase employment opportunities and ultimately help people to become economically independent. These students, of all ages and backgrounds would appreciate the opportunity to interact with fluent speakers and the extra assistance would be welcomed by local teachers. Volunteers with qualification in respective fields can provide a real contribution to the community and have great fun in the process.

  • volunteers don’t necessarily need teaching experience to take part in and enjoy our teaching placements as long as they have the specific qualifications .This program is open to all volunteers in various fields, they really benefit the students they work with, while gaining valuable skills themselves. Placements are in primary or secondary schools and special schools. All our placements have one thing in common: a genuine need for qualitative education. Most schools welcome volunteers who want to get involved in other aspects of school life, or run extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs such as: Sports, drama and music A typical school day: 8:00am morning assembly 8:30-12:00pm class activity 12:00pm break time 12:30pm -2:00pm class activity 2:00pm-3:30pm sports 4:00pm closing time This time-table sometimes differ in some schools with just a few adjustments. On Friday, most schools close by 12:00 pm so as to enable students go for religious engagements and prepare for the weekend Volunteering teachers might get to teach at least two classes within a day. The number of lessons taught per day could be arranged by volunteers and school headmaster or principal Volunteering teachers wishing to take part in the book project could come along with as much school books as possible , be it used or brand new n areas such as , Mathematics English language General science Text books on; chemistry, physics, biology, Computer studies, Social studies, And story books of all ages
