Bridging the rural-urban gap in Chiang Mai, Thaniland

  • Volunteer Opportunity posted by CADIP

Mae Chaem
Chiang Mai

The gap between the city and the countryside is still big in Thailand. The aim of this project is to create a link between global and local, to give more opportunities to children and people in rural areas, to improve the state of natural environment, culture, poverty and human rights, to support development of local communities, to promote friendship, understanding and solidarity among world volunteers and local people. The volunteers will help with organic farming in rice terraces and fruit farms (there are pineapple, corn). They will also teach at the local school nearby the village using non-formal education methods such as games, songs, storytelling, art or performance to encourage children to speak in English.

Special requirements: Respect for other cultures, open mind and love for learning and sharing.

Project dates:  November 12 - November 24, 2018
