Description

Go Where You're Needed

Founded in 1981, Pyramid Atlantic is a nonprofit contemporary art center fostering the creative disciplines of papermaking, printmaking, and book arts within a collaborative community. We equip, educate, and exhibit in our historic Hyattsville home.

Our vision is to create an artistic hub in Hyattsville that inspires and enables local, national, and international artists to create and innovate in our core disciplines; elevates the local arts and small business scene; and enhances the quality of life for artists and neighbors. We value artistic excellence, infrastructure for artists, hands-on experiences, and collaboration. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build upon the foundation created by former VISTAs in areas of volunteerism, community outreach, membership, and technological infrastructure. Further, a major component of this year’s work will be to expand Pyramid Atlantic’s educational art programs to K-12 students, particularly in Prince George’s County, MD.

Member Duties : Gather, clean, and map data for the organization’s new CRM database. Work to create more efficient systems with the new CRM tools (e.g. membership renewal process). Assist in the launching of the new “Snag It” program to provide free workshops to student artists. Create campaigns for marketing, and social media engagement including managing community presence at local events. Assist in the research and development for funding and grant writing for the organization, particularly funds to support arts education. Work with Artistic Director on planning, securing, and organizing for in-school and out of school programs for K-12 students. Lead volunteer outreach, recruiting, and scheduling of volunteer projects. Develop a 3-year volunteer plan that can be sustained after the completion of the VISTA term. The volunteer plan will include goals, specific strategies, and management systems. Work with Executive Director to develop an Arts Administration internship.
