BE THE CHANGE - Become a Court Appointed Special Advocate!

Norfolk CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is recruiting volunteers for our upcoming Pre-Service training class, set to begin on September 11, 2018.

Norfolk CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in the city of Norfolk. We are the child's voice in court, and a support for them during this most confusing and traumatic time. As the ‘eyes and ears of the judge,’ we investigate and report our findings to the court at each hearing. Advocating always for the best interest of the child, we stay by their side until they are in a safe and permanent placement.

Because of the vulnerable population of children we serve, there is a rigorous and thorough application and interview process. We do not require certain education or work experience, but you must pass reference and background checks. After being trained and sworn in as a CASA, you will be assigned a case and see your CASA kids a minimum of twice a month. On average, our volunteer advocates spend 10-15 hours each month working on their case.
