Description

Project: VISION is a small grassroots organization providing free after school programs such as tutoring, mentoring college and career readiness, service learning, and leadership training to 200 youth ages 12-18, primarily from low-income, first generation immigrant families, in Chicago's Chinatown, Bridgeport, and surrounding communities.

Since 2004, we've served over 650 community youth, but want to reach out to even more! To accomplish this, we are working to grow our Board of Directors. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about youth development to help us grow our nonprofit organization.

Useful experience/skills/traits include: professional experience (10+ years), some board experience, project management, fundraising, knowledge of accounting/finance, marketing, networking, and team player.

Time commitment varies, but typical board members spend an estimated 15-20 hours per month. This includes board meetings (monthly), committee meetings, events attendance, and other outreach/networking activities.
