Description

About I'm Taking Charge:

I'm Taking Charge seeks to empower every woman to take back the things breast cancer stole from her: her sense of choice over her body, her comfort in her own skin, and her ownership of her post-cancer body.

In line with this mission, we have a strong focus on informed breast cancer decision-making and life after treatment ends (or life when treatment becomes the new normal in the case of metastatic breast cancer).

Our website is full of informational and inspirational articles, videos, and podcasts, and we also maintain a vibrant presence on nearly all social media platforms.

Who We Need:

We are looking for women who have had a breast cancer diagnosis or a genetic predisposition toward breast cancer to maintain a monthly column for us at imtakingcharge.com. We need someone who believes that being vulnerable and talking about the hard parts of this diagnosis can make a difference in others’ experiences. We can provide topics that come up frequently, but we also want someone who has ideas and topics that she is ready to write about. We will accept applicants from those recently diagnosed to those many decades past their diagnosis. Previvors, survivors, and metavivors are all welcome.

Skills and Experiences

  • The ability to write in honest, fresh language
  • Familiarity with digital styles of writing (such as blogs) and the ability to adapt to this style
  • Experience with other breast cancer survivors/previvors/metavivors, such as in a support group, to understand the greater breast cancer community's concerns

Remote

Ok

Benefits

  • International Volunteers
