This program is a part of the Osa and Golfito Initiative (INOGO) which works collaboratively with Costa Ricans in local communities, government, the private sector and NGOs on issues related to sustainable development (http://inogo.stanford.edu/). SELAL aims to provide the youth of Osa and Golfito with greater access to employment within the local economy, which is primarily ecotourism and other nature-based activities. Throughout the program students have the opportunity to interact with local leaders and business people as well as participate in several field trips to local businesses in the tourism sector.
