VIN’s Nepal teacher development volunteer program offers one the opportunity to assess the Nepali educational system in rural areas and actually do something to make a positive change. You as a volunteer would be given the chance to observe teaching methods used within the classroom, and initiate activities or workshops of your own, instructing the local teachers in the field of interaction.

PROGRAM AT A GLANCE :

Project: School Education Reform

Program: Teacher Development

Start Dates: 1st and 15th of each month

Language Requirements: English (basic Nepali is provided)

Food and Accommodation: Provided with a host family / guest house - Nepali standard: rice lentil soup, vegetables etc Key Activities: Teacher training, model class to local teachers, follow up support, course designing Beneficiaries: Local teachers: Early Childhood Centres, primary, secondary

Working Hours: 3 to 4 hours a day , 6 days a week

Required Qualifications and Skills: Sound knowledge and experience in teacher development, fluent spoken and written English
