About PfID

Partners for International Development (PfID) is a Canadian charity that funds and operates education and health projects in Kenya. We have five full-time project staff at our office in Kisumu, Kenya, and an all-volunteer management/development team comprised of professionals based in Canada and the United States. PfID’s projects are small and highly cost-effective. Our education programs for orphans in public schools have resulted in a 100% pass rate on grade 8 national exams since 2013, and our health infrastructure, now serving over 25,000 patients per year, was constructed at half the cost of an average government contractor. Our Kisumu team is currently most focused on producing bite-sized educational videos covering the entire Kenyan secondary school curriculum as part of a multi-year project to design and demonstrate a digital one-room schoolhouse for teens in rural and remote areas.

With several promising and effective projects in our portfolio, we are now looking support replication and growth led by our field-based staff in Kenya. We invite you to become a part of the volunteer management team that will help make this growth a reality.

The Treasurer is a part-time volunteer role that would be best suited to someone who is familiar with managerial accounting and/or auditing practices in professionally managed organizations. The Treasurer would work alongside other members of the Finance Committee: Michael Beeler, Alex Girard, Steven Lehman.
