The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands needs volunteers for its CS First program. The CS First program is a computer science (CS) program that increases student access and exposure to computer science education through after-school and summer programs. The program is directed at 4th - 8th grades and reaches young people with themes such as fashion and design, art, social media, and game design.

The CS First program is run by teachers and/or community volunteers - also known as Gurus.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is recruiting Gurus for the Google CS First program across the Omaha-Coucil Bluffs Metropolitan Area.

No experience in computer science is necessary to Guru or facilitate a CS First Club. In fact, all that is necessary are: i) an interview with staff, ii) a background check, ii) enthusiasm to encourage in young people a desire and interest to create with CS, and iii) a time commitment of 8 weeks.

Please download the application here: Once the application has been completed, please return it to the Club of your choice. The Club Director or Program Director will then contact you for an interview.

For further information on volunteering and the CS First program please contact Benjamin Schmitz at or Christian Villegas at
