City Youth Now provides programs and services that promote stability, personal growth, and long-term success for youth in San Francisco's foster care and juvenile justice systems. We are a small non-profit with a powerful mission, and we are searching for a Graphic Design/Web Design/Social Media Marketing Volunteer to join our team.

If you are looking to apply and expand your digital media skills, this is the opportunity for you! Your work will help us attract more support from donors, volunteers, and partner organization and allow us to reach out to more youth in crisis.

We have opportunities in graphic design, web design, and social media marketing. It is NOT necessary to have experience or interest in all three areas. If you would like to help in only one of these areas, we are more than happy to have you on our team!

Graphic Design Responsibilities

  • Design an original logo for our Corner Store, where sell snacks, beverages, and drinks to raise money for our programs
  • Design price tags and signs advertising the sales in our Corner Store
  • Create motivational posters to decorate our office space
  • Assist in designing flyers for our events

Web Design Responsibilities (until late September 2018)

  • Take the lead in website maintenance under the guidance of our Program Manager
  • Create new pages in our website

Social Media Marketing Responsibilities

  • Research relevant articles, videos, TED talks, and other media
  • Find compelling quotes on foster care, juvenile justice, and other related areas
  • Create graphics to post on our social media pages

Details about your role

  • Time commitment: minimum 3 hours a week
  • Schedule: Volunteers may work anytime Monday-Thursday 9:15am-5pm.
  • Duration: 3 months minimum commitment
  • Location: 375 Woodside Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94127


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Dependable, creative, and able to work independently
  • Familiarity with graphic and/or web design preferred
  • Interest or prior knowledge of foster care and juvenile justice systems a plus
  • Current college students and recent grads encouraged to apply
