Mentor- Economic Self-Empowerment for Domestic Abuse Survivors


This volunteer mentor role works with survivors of domestic abuse within the context of increasing their economic security through collaborative goal setting and goal attainment, coaching, problem-solving and resource research while also providing gentle and non-judgmental support and encouragement.


Responsibilities include:

- Required orientation, training and ongoing bi-weekly group supervision

- Meet with mentee weekly or bi-weekly either in person or by phone for up to 9 months (or as appropriate)

- In collaboration with the mentee, set goals to identify economic security goals and steps necessary to attain these goals.

- Demonstrate consistent coaching, problem-solving and resource approach for each goal, using a non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
