Gift of Hospice provides services to our patients where ever they call home, that may be a private residence or a skilled nursing facility throughout all of San Diego County. Our mission is to give patient and family empowered care, preserving dignity and providing comfort.

We are looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join our team of companionship and respite volunteers. These team members provide support and interaction to our patients and their loved ones. Common visit activities are conversing and reminiscing, playing cards or games, watching TV, reading a book or whatever activity the patient enjoys. The family may leave for a respite break while you are there, providing them with a much needed opportunity to recharge.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands on care i.e changing an adult brief, dispensing medications etc, you only provide companionship and socialization.

NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive training as well as ongoing education and support. Please note all volunteers must pass a background check, TB test and drug screening due to Medicare regulations. All requirements are paid for and provided by our office.
