Description

NYC Mission Society operates free summer programs in Harlem and the Bronx. Power Academy Summer Day Camp offers the opportunity to halt the summer learning slide through a full day of engagement with our students. Each year our educators develop camp themes that include instruction, hands on learning opportunities and exciting field trips.

The summer program culminates in two large events, Olympic Day and Cranium Crunch. Hosted at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, and powered by staff and volunteers, Olympic Day is a day of field events, team-building exercises, and health, fitness, and nutrition activities. Students participate in a pep rally and sing the New York City Mission Society song. We are looking for volunteers to help set up and run fitness stations, hand out snacks and water, and provide event support.

The event will be on Thursday, August 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
