Are you passionate about social justice? Do you want to put your Spanish/Mandarin language skills toward a good cause and get some experience with a non-profit? Why not volunteer with Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto (CLSEPA)? We need Bilingual Spanish & Mandarin Interpreters and Translators!

CLSEPA is a legal services non-profit that combines policy advocacy and impact litigation with direct legal services. We specialize in housing, immigration, and economic advancement. Our legal advocates work side-by-side with low-income communities, predominately communities of color in East Palo Alto and the Peninsula, to bring about lasting change. Volunteer Opportunity


Our bilingual interpreters and translators play a vital role in CLSEPA’s program areas, helping CLSEPA and volunteer attorneys assist Spanish and other language speaking clients in immigration, housing, workers’ rights, record dismissal, small business, and consumer law matters. Through this valuable work, volunteers are exposed to the many issues facing the local community today and get the chance to make a difference in their daily lives.


Required Skills and Abilities:

 

-Bilingual (Spanish/English)

                 (Mandarin/English)

 

-Ability to interpret and/or translate

Schedule/Location:

CLSEPA translators and interpreters are sent a list of documents and/or meetings for which translation and interpretation are requested. Volunteers can choose the types of activities they would like to work on based on their own schedules and their location.

 

We are currently looking for interpreters based in the SF and Peninsula Area.
