Description

We are looking for fund developers and proposal writers to volunteer their professional skills, assisting our Director of Community Relations and Development in various capacities, with the mission to build and maintain community support and funding for Nehemiah programs, initiatives, and events. Candidates will have a passion for social justice and racial equality in our community, cultural awareness and competency, and the ability to translate these values into their work.

Applicants with strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with writing grant, business, or research proposals will be top candidates; experience working with non-profits is a plus. Professionals and grad students are encouraged to apply!

Requirements:

Strongly mission-driven; enthusiasm for Nehemiah’s vision and values

Advanced-level skills and/or experience in writing and editing, ability to comply with highly specific proposal requirements and tight deadlines, knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, and an understanding of institutional history

Collaborative and team-focused with an equal ability to work independently
