Description

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is seeking Volunteers to provide compassionate, caring and hygienic head shaves and wig trims to customers of Shine. Cosmetology/Barber Volunteers must possess a valid Washington State Cosmetology license. The shop is located at the patient housing building: the SCCA House, address: 1216 John Street, Seattle, Washington 98109.

Volunteer must be 21 years old, and be a licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Washington.

Essential functions include the ability to bend, reach and lift items (while restocking, unpacking and displaying goods up to 15 lbs.); ability to stand for up to two hours; vision and ability to verbalize required (necessary for communicating while performing service).

How To Apply

ORIENTATION Volunteers participate in two orientation sessions and a role specific orientation, along with an interview, before they are assigned to a specific shift. Volunteers are encouraged to attend in-service education programs for continuing education.

New Volunteer Orientation is offered quarterly. The next orientation is scheduled for January 17th & 24th , 3:30-6:30pm. Pre-registration and attendance at both sessions is required.
