HVK Children’s Foundation was registered as a nonprofit in Massachusetts in 2016, and became a federal recognized corporation in 2018. We are based in Worcester, MA and West Africa, Liberia. We aim to break barriers to socioeconomic and social determinant factors that pose as a harm to human development. Thus, we work in the fields of education, public health, and social work providing evidence-based services to low-income children and their families in Liberia. Our goal is to meet the challenging needs of women, children and families.
Focus: Education Technology
We are refining an e-learning technology portal, GSAP through our Project REACH program, for the advancement of ICT, STEAM and literacy skills. Our program is now in 5 schools in Liberia. But we would like to refine the content on the system to be able to track student's usage as well as to include more cultural sensitive materials. After, we want to create teacher's manual and student's workbook to match the content on the technology.
We wish to provide an exceptional, informative and engaging program to improve reading, STEM, and character building among children at the schools we work with in Liberia. Thus, we are searching for a college or masters level student who is curious about using technology to help meet the literacy needs of children in low-income countries.
