Short-Term (few weeks/months)
Volunteer in Iceland supporting the conservation efforts of the Reykjavik Botanical Garden. Established in 1961, the Botanic Garden features a vast collection of living plants. Its primary role is to conserve the plants for research, education, and leisurely delight. The garden boasts around 5000 plant species categorized in eight plant collections, giving a good picture of the enormous diversity of vegetation in the northern temperate zone. The Botanic Garden features various events during summer, and allows group receptions throughout the year.
Volunteers will be doing gardening tasks like tending the trees, flowers, and other plants. They will also assist in events organizing that may be carried out on short notice. Volunteer work starts early on weekdays, with regular shifts from 8:00am to 3:30pm.
