Description

Higher Achievement is looking for academic mentors to volunteer 2 hours a week from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday's or Tuesdays during the academic year at our Alexandria site (Francis C. Hammond Middle School).

The mentors/volunteers duties would be to teach a small group of 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders in a core academic subject: math or literature, with provided curriculum.

You do not need to have any prior teaching experiences to be a mentor, as our mentors come from all walks of life. Mentors choose their subjects depending on days, and receive significant support from the Higher Achievement staff. This support includes curricula, extensive orientation, and regular training and coaching.
