For more than 50 years, AMIGOS has provided authentic service and immersion experiences in Central and South America for students aged 13-22. AMIGOS inspires and builds young leaders through collaborative community development and immersion in cross-cultural experiences. Our vision is a world in which each young person becomes a life-long catalyst for social change.

Want to learn more? Visit us at an event near you to meet alumni and hear about our 3-8 week programs in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, and Ecuador. We'll tell you about our leadership training at the Portland Chapter that prepares you for the experience abroad. We offer group fundraising options, and financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Explore AMIGOS Fair

This is a chance for interested students and families to network with Portland Chapter representatives and veteran volunteers who recently participated in a summer program. Attendees will participate in a project tour to learn details about specific countries and project themes for 2019! We'll also have tamales!

Program Deadlines

The Priority application deadline is November 4th and the Final Deadline to apply for the Portland Chapter is December 3rd.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

At the Portland Chapter we work with our students and their families to make the programs affordable. We are happy to work with you to discuss what the options are! The deadline to apply for the National Office Young Leaders Award Scholarship is November 12th, but you can apply for financial aid through the Portland Chapter through December 12th. Read more about that here on our website.
