Lifelong's mission is to empower people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS and/or other chronic conditions to lead healthier lives.

This volunteer opportunity is with Lifelong’s Health Education & Prevention Department, working with the youth program, HEYO (Health Education Youth Outreach). HEYO strives to create safe, positive and inclusive peer to peer outreach run by and for queer & allied youth. Our outreach & education reduces stigma around queer issues, promotes healthy + positive sexuality, and makes testing and other resources readily available. HEYO focuses on gender/sexuality non-conforming and allied young people ages 16 – 24.

Volunteers will work with HEYO's Program Coordinator and other Outreach Volunteers in conducting regular street outreach around Capitol Hill & Downtown Seattle. HEYO's efforts include safer sex workshops, community tabling, event outreach, hosting events + parties and street outreach to homeless/ street involved young adults. HEYO’s street outreach program also provides youth and young adults on the streets with necessary supplies (food, dental kits, hygiene kits, first aid supplies, warm winter clothing, etc.).
