Passionate about Food Justice? Interested in working with a team of diverse and inspiring food system change agents? Become a leader with the CT Food Justice VISTA Project! The Connecticut Food Justice Americorps*VISTA Project seeks to build the capacity of high-impact organizations focused on community food security and food justice. With VISTA Service Member support, project host sites commit to empowering youth and other underrepresented populations to have impact on food-related programs and services, and the food system in Connecticut as a whole. Host sites will share best practices and learn new skills in engaging people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives through participatory decision-making.


Member Duties : Serve as a VISTA Leader with the Connecticut Food Justice Project - requires a minimum of one term of prior AmeriCorps or Peace Corps service to be eligible. The VISTA Leader with this project will help coordinate training for all VISTAs assigned to the project, serve as a member of the statewide VISTA training team, assist the project director in collecting data on performance measures for progress reports, provide support to VISTAs as a mentor and coach, develop and maintain quality communications about the project for stakeholders and the public, and help coordinate overall VISTA project activities to ensure the project meets its goals. The position is one year of service starting in August 2018
