Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Metro Milwaukee is seeking adult volunteers who are interested in making positive change in their community through one-to-one, professionally supported mentoring relationships.

In our School-based program, volunteers mentor children in structured school settings in Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Male and female mentors, aged 18 and older, are encouraged to contact us for opportunities to mentor in area schools. In this School-based Mentoring Program, volunteers (Bigs) who have been matched with a child (Little) meet weekly for a minimum of one hour either during the school day or after school. Together, the volunteer mentor and the child concentrate on academic achievement, recreational activities and emotional development. Bigs and Littles are matched based on similar interests and values. At each site, BBBS staff provide adult oversight, planned activities, direct match support and outcome measurement!
