Eluna provides comfort, hope and healing to children and families affected by grief and addiction through its three signature programs and services, all offered free of charge. Camp Erin® is the largest national bereavement program for children and teens grieving the death of someone significant in their lives and Camp Mariposa® is a national addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth impacted by a family member's substance use disorder. The Eluna Resource Center extends the continuum of care by providing a curated set of online resources with personalized phone and email support for families experiencing grief, addiction and other related issues. The Nonprofit Volunteer would have an opportunity to contribute to supporting these vulnerable youth and their families while gaining valuable skills. Working as part of our dynamic team, the volunteer will learn about Eluna, how a nonprofit operates as well as the issues of childhood bereavement and the impacts of family substance use disorder. 

 Duties may include but are not limited to:

·        Grant researching and writing

·        Data entry and reporting in Salesforce

·        Researching potential partnerships and donors

·        Assisting with fundraising events

·        Supporting media and social media outreach

Depending on the timing of events, duties may vary.

Learning will be on the job and will include Salesforce training; learning how to research and write grants; how to research donors and potential funding streams; how fundraising campaigns are designed and implemented; understanding the details involved behind successful event planning; and how a donor-based nonprofit operates.

 Qualifications and Attributes:

·        Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities and ability to take direction and multi-task

·        A get it done, self-directed, enthusiastic, team player, ability to pitch in where needed

·        Willingness to learn and work independently

·        Basic Proficiency in or willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint and customer relationship management database (Salesforce)

·        Positive attitude

·        Confidentiality and discretion required
