Building Skills Partnership (BSP) is a non-profit whose mission is to improve the quality of life of low-wage property service workers and their families by increasing their skills, access to education and opportunities for career and community advancement. Thousands of low-wage workers dream of a better future for their families. Help break language and skill barriers by expanding the reach of BSP’s educational and training programs. www.buildingskills.org
BSP is preparing to launch a certification program called the "Green Janitor Education Program" for custodians at a California State Department headquarters near downtown Sacramento. In this program, janitors will develop competency in sustainability efforts in the operations and maintenance of buildings. The program covers an introduction to sustainability concepts, green cleaning practices, and water and energy efficiency. The workers take two exams and are certified upon completion of the program (30 hours) and passing the examinations. Join us in this unique program to give janitors the skills they need to have a seat at the sustainability table!
