The Community Engagement Coordinator will be a vital part of Radio Free Brooklyn’s internal and external outreach strategy. This volunteer role will work with RFB's volunteer-powered workforce to help the station build relationships with community partners, work to cultivate and manage new volunteer activities and assist with development of external community engagement projects.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will primarily work with the Director of News and Community Engagement:

  • To build and maintain a roster of active volunteers based on submissions
  • To Work with managers to secure volunteer placement
  • To engage and build relationships with local business and community partners
  • To strategize and create opportunities to promote Radio Free Brooklyn in local communities
  • To develop engagement opportunities for hosts and volunteers

  • Loves to be out and about attending community events and networking
  • Thrives as a self-starter and can take an idea and run with it to completion
