International nonprofit DKMS is holding a casting call for heroes at Heroes & Villians Fan Fest, April 7th to the 8th, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. With nearly 30,000 comic book, television, film, celebrity, and cosplay lovers heading to Chicago to celebrate their favorite fictional superheroes, DKMS will offer the opportunity for attendees to become real-life heroes - starting with a simple cheek swab to join the bone marrow registry.
Volunteering will include engaging conference attendees and informing them about the importance of joining the National Marrow Donor Program. You will also be helping to facilitate the registration of interested attendees. You may be registering future heroes who may go on to one day save a life!
Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer or blood disorder in the U.S. For many patients, a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant is the best chance at survival. 70 percent of patients must rely on an unrelated stranger who is virtually their genetic twin to donate. Unfortunately, less than half of those seeking a transplant will find a match. DKMS hopes to change those odds!
Please join us to help turn everyday people into super heroes!

How To Apply
Thank you for your interest in our Donor Drive at Heroes & Villians Fan Fest! We look forward to helping everyday people become heroes by signing up as potential bone marrow donors for people with blood cancer and disease.
Please email Jordan at Jordan@DKMS.org and indicate if you would like to volunteer for either the 7th or 8th (or both!) and if you can volunteer for a full day or half day. Please also include a cell phone number where you can be reached the day of the event and your shirt size so that a T-shirt can be provided. I will followup with a short training video. I will be there for the duration of the event and can be reached at 917-992-2686. Thanks!
