Program Members and Mentors needed for Holiday Program for Homeless Children!!

The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW), a non-profit theater and community center, needs adult volunteers to mentor homeless children at our annual Builders of the New World Holiday Celebration on Tuesday, 12/11 and Wednesday, 12/12 from 1:30-8:30pm or 3:30-8:30pm.

Being displaced by homelessness does not always allow the children the opportunity to have a traditional family gathering complete with hot nutritious food and special gifts. Share your love and compassion, and help these precious children reconnect to the dream and essence of the Holiday Season. Be a part of our 24th annual holiday celebrations and creative classes for children living in five different NYC temporary housing facilities.

ATW is looking for volunteers who would like to join a team of caring community members and donate their professional skills, heart and commitment to help make this holiday program possible for our children. Activities will include planning the events, organizing food and gift donations, raising awareness and funds for our 2018 holiday and spring 2019 programs and working with the children during the two holiday classes and celebrations.

If you’d like to work with the children, complete a volunteer application, and attend a mandatory training session with ATW’s Artistic Director on either Sat, 12/1 or Sat 12/8 (from 4:30 - 7:30 PM), or Tues, 12/4 (from 6:00 - 9:00 PM).

For more information visit, contact us at, or call ATW at 212-947-1386. Check out this short video of a past holiday party and class and see for yourself the joy and fun the children experience!
