Tomorrow's Leaders NYC (TLNYC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps over-age students overcome social, emotional, and academic challenges so they can become positive and productive leaders of their community. Founded in 2011, our students – students who have been held back in school two or more times – receive free services during both the school day program and after-school program that helps improve their course grades, leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Service includes academic support, mentoring, vocational trips/workshops, life skills classes, family support, and community service opportunities. The ultimate goal is to see participating students become Advocates, Success Stories, Entrepreneurs, Role Models, High School & College Graduates, and most importantly, agents of Change. We are looking for a volunteer social media manager.

Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week; March 2019-September 2019 (can eventually become a paid position thereafter)

Goals include raising awareness, promoting engagement and building our community.

Duties will include:

  • Create content for social media channels, which includes managing content and finding relevant news articles, videos, etc. to post and share
  • Develop strategies to expand our online giving donor base
  • Connect with other nonprofits, organizations and individuals that are related/relevant to our mission and operations
  • Monitor and track key insights and metrics to measure
