Since 1967, the members, volunteers and staff of Neponset River Watershed Association have led, and continue to lead, an extraordinarily successful campaign to clean up and protect our water, waterways, and watershed lands.
We bring together citizens, scientists, engineers, and local officials to solve real-world problems in your neighborhood. Our most important work is at the city and town level, recruiting volunteers to test water and carry out hands-on restoration projects, visiting schools to educate kids about water, and working with communities to stop water waste and pollution.
Stop water pollution,
Prevent water waste,
Educate our kids about water,
Open up recreational opportunities, and
Restore fish and wildlife habitats
The Neponset Watershed includes parts of 14 communities: Boston (Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park), Canton, Dedham, Dover, Foxborough, Medfield, Milton, Norwood, Quincy, Randolph, Sharon, Stoughton, Walpole, and Westwood.
NepRWA is looking for 2 or 3 volunteers who can be a part of our current development committee. We meet about 9 times a year at 6:30pm once a month for an hour. Responsibilities include helping the Director of Development identify businesses and individuals who we might solicit for funding, support us by helping to plan some of our fundraising events, and from time to time help staff an event.
If you have an interest in the environment, protecting a great local natural resource, an interest in the general health and cleanliness of the Neponset and its watershed, or restoring wildlife habitat than you would be perfect as a volunteer development committee member.
Prior board experience is not necessary.
