Lingua School is a community development project of Bayadjan non-profit organization. The school offers English, Russian, and Kyrgyz language instruction for all ages and abilities, as well as for career development.
The position requires a 1 month commitment and may be extended if a mutual agreement is reached. The ideal candidate will be a native speaker of English. Applicant must have a strong desire for teaching and interacting with children. Teaching experience, EFL, or other related experience is preferred but not required.
The position involves close cooperation with a leading English teacher, i.e. assisting them before, during and after classes. The main responsibility will be creating the English language environment, where the students are motivated to take an active part in communicative activities, to expand their vocabulary, improve pronunciation and grammar. Other activities will include supporting the director of Lingua School with general office duties.
The work is done on a volunteer basis. If funding is available, a stipend will be provided. Grant research/writing experience is welcomed. Housing and meals are available. The director of Lingua School speaks English, Russian, and Kyrgyz and can provide language support. An American assistant is available to provide transportation and logistics support for international volunteers.
