We are currently seeking individuals with an interest in poetry, the arts, biography, history, education, and museum studies to volunteer at the Walt Whitman Birthplace, a historic site dedicated to Walt Whitman's life, spirit, and legacy.
Volunteers provide the public with the history of the Walt Whitman Birthplace and guide guests through the home. This position may also include special events, programs, and group tours. We provide training and resources to learn about Walt Whitman and the house in which he was born.
WWBA values its volunteers and depends on the generosity of individuals to help us maintain our mission to preserve and promote the legacy of Walt Whitman. We welcome volunteers of all ages, races, cultures, genders, and orientations. If you would like to volunteer approximately 2x/month on weekends (either Saturday or Sunday) between 11am and 4pm, please reply with your cover letter and resume. Thank you.
