Evacuteer.org annually recruits, trains, and manages evacuation volunteers (Evacuteers) who will assist with New Orleans’ public evacuation option, called City-Assisted Evacuation (or CAE for short). We're neighbors helping neighbors- in the event of a mandatory evacuation in the City of New Orleans, Evacuteers serve to ensure that:
- Families stay together,
- Pets are evacuated with their people,
- Everyone gets out safely, and
- Everyone has the opportunity to come back home!
When emergencies arise in and around our city, Evacuteer volunteers participate in local relief and response efforts. And of course, in the event of a mandatory evacuation, Evacuteers rise to the call to help New Orleans' residents evacuate the city to get to safe shelter. People are our greatest resource, and we couldn't do the work we do without invested community members like YOU!

How To Apply
Please see our posted events to sign up for a volunteer training near you! In this 1-hour session you will be introduced to the work that we do, learn how City-Assisted Evacuation (CAE) works, and the vital role that our volunteers play in ensuring that everyone who uses CAE is treated with respect and dignity. Following the training presentation, you will then have the option to sign up for Evacuteer service for the 2018 hurricane season!
