Description

Do you love to cook? Interested in sharing your love for cooking with our neighbors in Ward 8? Our Back to Basics Cooking Class at The Commons is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! In these interactive sessions, adults are invited to roll up their sleeves to learn something new or deepen their cooking skills. As a volunteer, you'll get your hands dirty and help them make something yummy following the instructions of our Chef.

Please arrive on time and ready to serve at our main location, 2375 Elvans Rd. SE Washington, DC 20020. We highly recommend using public transportation or carpooling as street parking can be challenging and/or expensive.

 

Space is limited to 4 volunteers, so do not bring more than your scheduled number of attendees. Please do not sign up for this shift if you are not sure if you will attend. We need every volunteer who signs up to show up. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old


Wear closed-toed shoes and dress comfortably for an active shift. Long pants and long sleeves are required. Bring a hat if you do not wish to wear a hairnet. Our storage space on-site is limited, so please travel light.
