Volunteers play an integral part in the success of St. John’s Hospital. Their dedication enhances the care we provide our patients and visitors each and every day. St. John's Hospital has a great volunteer opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting.


Volunteer role

The surgery admit unit volunteer is responsible for welcoming arriving patients and their support teams and orienting them to waiting room including surgical tracking boards. The volunteer will also provide updates to the support team, answer, transfer and respond to telephone requests, escort support teams to patient rooms, round in waiting rooms to ensure families’ needs are met and areas are kept tidy, and work closely with staff to create a customer first experience.
