Description

The RSVP Program at L.A. Works is developing several ongoing projects with our partner organizations around the city aimed at offering adults the support and skills they need to successfully find employment, and we need dedicated project leaders to help provide quality services.

Project Description: Our partners serve populations with high numbers of monolingual Spanish speakers, which proves to be an added barrier to navigating the job market. L.A. Works is seeking bilingual project leaders to bring resources and experiences to serve this population! Experience navigating employment, and experience working with undocumented clientele is a huge plus, but by no means necessary.

These projects will involve monthly workshops on topics like:

  • Starting a small/home business
  • Navigating employment and immigration status
  • Marketing
  • Finances and Budgeting
  • Interview Preparedness
  • Resume Writing
  • Basic Education
  • Literacy
  • ESL

Many other topics are possible based on your expertise and the needs of our partner agencies and their clients. As an L.A. Works Project Leader, you will be in charge of leading workshops with the help of a small group of other RSVP volunteers, as well as some recruitment and verifying attendance. L.A. Works will support with project development, curriculum materials and coordination with the nonprofit partner. We are always available to help resolve any issues that arise. If you are ready to take your volunteerism to the next level with a leadership role, contact us today!

Role and Responsibilities: The Project Leader will be responsible for leading workshops with the support of a small group of volunteers, helping develop curriculum when applicable, and assisting in recruiting volunteers.

Time Commitment: We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months, with a weekly time budget of about 3 hours.

Benefits: This is a fantastic way to help people who are in the greatest need of employment assistance. It is an opportunity to use your experience to benefit many people across the Los Angeles area.

If you are interested in leading a project with L.A. Works but are not 55 or older, please sign up for our general Project Leadership opportunity.
