Lunch Sponsors provide on-site lunch for our build project volunteers!
Why we need assistance with lunch...
Austin Habitat for Humanity works with well over 8,000 volunteers each year. As a local affiliate, we are responsible for our own fundraising, house construction, family selection, and volunteer recruitment. Unfortunately, our affiliate does not have sufficient funds allocated to provide lunch to all of our volunteers on a regular basis.
Lunches served on-site allow our volunteers to experience a sense of fellowship and allow for more productivity throughout the workday. We would like you to participate in this program to further your knowledge of Habitat for Humanity, to contribute to a charitable organization, and give back to the community. Commitments range from providing lunch once to "adopting" a crew to feed weekly, bi-weekly or monthly
What we generally need...
We generally need food for 35-40 people. We break for lunch at about 11:30 for approximately ½ hour. There is usually a table available for setting up the meal. The food provided varies widely from lunch sponsor to lunch sponsor. Examples include tacos, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, or enchiladas, also fruit, dessert, and drinks are welcome! Whatever the lunch, we are eating on a job site, so it needs to be low maintenance and we ask that a non-meat component is included for our vegetarians.
We will recognize all lunch sponsors at our house dedications, in our quarterly newsletter, on our website, and will post signage (you will need to provide us signage) at the location lunch is being served that day.
Please contact us directly to discuss how you would like to support this program and to schedule a date.
