A volunteer CPA to serve as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of is sought for our non-profit organization (Building Community Bridges, Inc.) that partners with villages in West Africa to promote sustainable and self-directed community economic development and provide a bridge to resources and community identified needs, especially sanitation. The CPA/ Board Treasurer will provide guidance to the board in understanding financial issues and fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities, provide guidance in the management of the organization's finances, administrate the fiscal matters of the organization, provide an annual budget to the board for members' approval, and ensure development and board review of financial policies and procedures. We need the expertise of a board member who can help us establish strong financial practices with a focus on exceptional transparency and help us develop procedures that will foster confidence in our donors and enable us to pursue larger grants. Additionally, BCB is planning to form a social enterprise and the Volunteer CPA/ Treasurer will be instrumental in research and planning for this venture. The social enterprise is a rice company with rice grown by our partner village to provide the village with employment opportunities and sustainable income, thereby reducing dependency on foreign aid and promoting dignity and self-reliance. This opportunity is virtual with flexible times/hours.
