A volunteer attorney to serve as Volunteer Legal Counsel of the Board of Directors is sought for our non-profit organization that partners with villages in West Africa to promote sustainable and self-directed community economic development and provide a bridge to resources and community identified needs, especially sanitation. The Legal Counsel Board Member will provide guidance in all matters pertaining to the nonprofit sector, such as with drawing up contracts, copyrights and trademarks, and ensuring that the actions and endeavors of Building Community Bridges, Inc. (BCB) are in accordance with tax-exemption and non-profit laws. Additionally, BCB is planning to form a social enterprise and the Legal Counsel Board Member will be instrumental in research and planning for this venture. The social enterprise is a rice company with rice grown by our partner village to provide the village with employment opportunities and sustainable income, thereby reducing dependency on foreign aid and promoting dignity and self-reliance. This opportunity is virtual with flexible times/hours.

Benefits of volunteering with BCB: • Build your skills in an innovative yet hands-on way. • Be part of a new exciting social venture. • Experience meaning and purpose in the difference your work makes. • Enjoy the support of people who share your interests and values. • Increase your understanding of global issues that are affecting our entire world.
