A few hours per week
Oakland International High School is a public high school in Oakland, California that serves 100% refugee & immigrant students. We are dedicated to supporting students to acquire English Language and academic skills, and the tools they need to graduate high school and achieve future success in college and career, while also serving the wraparound needs of our students and families and supporting their transitions into their new U.S. schools and homes.
We are a dynamic and diverse organization dedicated to educational equity, social justice, and immigrant rights and are seeking classroom volunteers who can make a minimum 2 hour/week commitment. Our classes are held from 8:20am - 3:15pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 8:20am - 2:55pm on Wednesdays. Responsibilities include small group work, one-on-one work, and general teacher assistance (passing out materials, audio/visual work, etc).
