Description

The Community Manager is responsible for upholding and increasing YAP’s visibility in the community by raising awareness about the YAP brand to potential members, and attending community events hosted by YAP affiliates and partners. This role will play an integral role in the official launch and management of YAP’s new membership platform.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage YAP’s membership engagement initiatives, including oversight and management of the membership platform. Monitor online conversations, respond to comments and member queries, when appropriate, to foster positive community, add value to user’s experience, and to build brand visibility and thought leadership
  • Work closely with the YAP Partnership Lead to create and strengthen relationships with existing and potential partners
  • Assist with the conception and creation of media content
  • Attend events throughout the DMV area and promote YAP
  • Ability to get things done in a fast-paced, complex, and rapidly-changing environment
  • Ability to take direction from multiple people and successfully prioritize projects


Requirements:


  • Strong networking communication, and creative writing skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in engaging and activating community groups
  • An interest in building, growing and scaling communities
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (i.e. repeat attendance at events)
  • Great time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to actively and enthusiastically work in a collaborative team environment
  • Working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members around the clock
