ADUD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to ultimately empower African diaspora communities worldwide, by engaging and partnering with individuals, businesses, agencies, and institutions in a collaborative effort to heavily contribute to the educational and social development of Africa and to build a stronger community.

Our Vision:The vision of the African Diaspora United for Development (ADUD) is to improve the partnership opportunities for our African diaspora communities, so that together we can stand strong to address the social and educational issues and lacks in Africa. ADUD staff and trained volunteers will educate, connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration addressing subtopics including but not limited to health, youth, families, welfare and community development.

Our programs are developed in direct response to community need. The Treasurer is appointed to hold office for a two-year term, or until otherwise provide by the Board or its Chair.

Requirements:

1.   Strong fiscal, financial and accounting knowledge.

2.   Personal commitment to devote the time necessary to perform the responsibilities of Treasurer.

3.   Understanding of financial accounting for nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities:

 1.   Serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.

2.   Manages, with the Finance Committee, the Board’s review of, and action related to, the Board’s financial responsibilities.

3.   Works with the CEO and finance Director or CFO to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board on a timely basis.

4.   Assists the CEO and finance Director or CFO in preparing the annual budget and presenting the budget to the Board for approval.

5.   Works with the Finance Committee and the CEO to develop Fiscal Policies for recommendation to the Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability and integrity of ADUD.

6.   Works with the Finance Committee and the CEO  to develop long-term financial strategies.

7.   Keeps currently informed of legal, regulatory and sector developments relating to the Board’s financial responsibilities.

8.   All other duties as required by ADUD’s bylaws and the Board Chair
