Kings County Tennis League (KCTL) is a registered 501c3 non-profit that uses tennis as an instrument for mentorship and community building in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. We literally bring tennis to the children’s communities.

KCTL is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are comfortable working with kids and are ready to develop their roles as mentors. Tennis skills are helpful, but not required. Volunteers are needed at one or all three of the following programs:

GoGirlGo! Tennis Program - This program aims to enrich our female students with an all girls tennis and education class on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Marcy from present - August 30.

Pee Wee Tennis Program - This program, in partnership with Brooklyn Kindergarten Society, offers four-year old BKS students, at Sumner and Tompkins, tennis classes midweek. These 45 minute classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00AM - 12:00PM from present to November 1.

Upswing Tennis Program - This program offers additional programming to KCTL students who have shown outstanding commitment and a desire to improve their tennis skills. With the extra court time, students will work to develop their technique and further learn how to navigate themselves around the court in a competitive setting. The program takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 6:00PM from present through August 30 at Marcy.

Duties for each class included: tossing tennis balls, giving out high fives, directing and communicating with students, and teaching If you have a tennis background. Basically, however, you will serve as a positive role model that the kids look forward to seeing each day.

All volunteers are required to undergo a background check and training. Volunteers will receive a KCTL team jersey and invites to special volunteer events as a thanks for all their hard work. Please fill out a KCTL registration form if you’re interested, or contact
