Description

PostSecret Street Team

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project started in 2004, where participants anonymously write their secrets on handmade postcards. They mail the artful cards to PostSecret creator Frank Warren, and each week he selects and arranges a composition of secrets for his award-winning Blog. To date, the project has received over a million submissions, some of which have been displayed at the White House and featured in six best-selling books. And now, PostSecret has made its way to our museum!

Our PostSecret exhibit takes a look at the intimacy of keeping and sharing secrets, and features an entire wall of postcards collected from San Diego! These secrets are collected by our group of PostSecret Street Team volunteers, and we’re looking to expand.

By joining the Street Team, you will play an instrumental role in collecting and sharing San Diego’s secrets.

Tasks include the following:

  • Attend a Street Team orientation and training, date to be announced
  • Attend monthly Street Team pop-ups art making stations throughout San Diego
  • Assist with art making, post card making, as well as the explanation of project, exhibit, and Museum of Man’s mission
  • Provide general information about the museum

Shifts will be approximately three hours and will typically occur on weekends.
