Camp Counselor with children with cancer
- Volunteer Opportunity posted by Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre
940 Queensdale Ave. East
Camp Trillium provides recreational programs for children with cancer and their families. We look for energetic, motivated, fun people who want to play with children with cancer and their families in a camp environment. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, crafts, games, high ropes, archery, fishing, campfires and much more. Volunteers do not need experience with camp activities. Volunteers are matched with children as "special friends" and spend time with them while they do the camp activities together.
The minimum commitment is the duration of one camp session which can be 5, 6, 8 or 12 days. Camp sessions run throughout July and August.
We look for volunteers in Ontario, Canada at our Ottawa, Kingston, and Barrie day camps as well as our sleepover sites (accommodations and food provided) in Waterford, and near Belleville.
Volunteers must be age 18+ for the sleepover programs and age 16+ for the day camps.
