The "Out of School Time" program serves over 2,000 children in multiple locations throughout the Philadelphia area. OST offers a safe, enriching enviornment for elementary, middle, and high school students in the city's most vulnerable neighborhoods. In addition to afterschool programs, our youth programs include tutoring and enrichment experiences, summer camps, and safe havens for at-risk youth.

The Education Coordinator will serve in a full time capacity to support the current OST program. Education coordinators will work with the entire OST structure to support and enrich the academic performance of students and provide fun, safe, and educational resources and enrichment activities to all youth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of education initiatives in the OST program by working with OST Staff to create and implement Project Based Learning (PBL) and 21st Common Core Standards
  • Lead and engage ALL assigned youth in daily recreational, social, and educational activities by providing individualized attention and study groups during the "Homework Help" portion of the OST program
  • Assist with general OST program management such as the recruitment and registration process of children and youth, the daily sign in/ sign out procedure, the generation of program schedules and activities, and the scheduling and arraging of program trips
  • Support the day-to-day OST functions such as ensuring that assigned groups meet ratio standards, preparing and distributing daily snacks and meals to students, and accompanying and supervising children/youth on field trips
  • Develop positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues, supervisors, and administrators, and when applicable, the school day teachers of students in an assigned group
  • Arrive to work ontime, motivated and enthusiastic to work with assigned children
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the OST Director or Assistant Director
