Development Associate (Fundraising; Boston based)
- Volunteer Opportunity posted by Stem Advocacy Institute - SAI
A few hours per week
Short-Term (few weeks/months)
Our think-tank (Stem Advocacy Institute; www.stemadvocacy.org) is comprised of all volunteers who are passionate about science development. We are scientists and non-scientists who have been trained/work at Harvard, Stanford, MGH, and MIT among other places. Our mission is to conduct research that leads to the development of new ideas and insights to support the development of science around the world.
The Problem We Are Tackling
As many individuals, organizations and countries realize the importance of training in STEM for growth and prosperity, there is a great need for new and enhanced understanding to help trainees, organizations, and policy makers build a scientific enterprise of the future. Although there is more information for trainees, organizations, and policy makers, understanding is lagging far behind. We call ourselves meta-scientists and we need you to help us fundraise to get funds to develop new ideas, programming, tools, and insights to advance the development of science.
One example is a recent tool (Stories in Science) that we developed and presented at the United Nations can be found www.storiesinscience.org
